In AMS Survey, a template is a collection of questions, answers and supporting text, all of which together comprise a survey. A template is used when building a survey to distribute to a population. You can use one of the templates AMS provides as-is, or you can duplicate one of our provided templates and customize it for your needs.
One of the challenges with traditional survey applications is users have to learn a complex tool with dozens of options and then manually “build” their survey, while also having to try and craft properly worded questions and answers. We’ve streamlined this process with our pre-built templates and also simplified the ability to customize templates by using our tested designs to minimize the amount of work required to change, add or delete questions and answers.
Surveys are only as good as the data they collect and data collection is heavily dependent on the nature and quality of the questions and answers presented to the surveyed population. We have extensive experience building surveys and have designed survey questions to maximize the quality of the data returned. We also closely monitor standard and mandatory surveys used by numerous medical groups, to align with concepts and methodologies specific to patients and other ancillary medical personnel. When making changes, or building new templates, carefully think about the questions and answers you’re using to ensure they can be clearly understood and actioned by your audience.
Our library of templates is constantly growing and improving. We’re also continually looking at new ways to present surveys to users to maximize response rates. As with all AMS Services, we look forward to any feedback or ideas you may have to improve AMS Survey.
Sharing Survey Templates
If your facility is part of a group, you can share templates with other facilities in your group. This can save a tremendous amount of time and create consistency across all of your locations. On the Surveys > Templates page, you’ll see a share icon for each template as well as a checkbox. You can share a single template by clicking the share button for that template and selecting which other facilities in your group should receive the template, or you can share multiple templates simultaneously by selecting the checkbox for all templates and using the Actions button and selecting Share.
