We’ve globally defined a pre-set list of procedure types to cover all of the cases seen by facilities across our network (if your facility does cases that aren’t represented here, just click on the +Add Procedure Type button and type in the desired new procedure which will be sent to our support team for review and addition). Your particular facility will likely only perform some of these procedures. Go to Settings > Procedure Types to select just the procedures that you want to appear on drop-down menus and reports throughout the application. Select the checkbox for each procedure type you would like to have available in your instance of AMSHub and hit update.
The other elements you can optionally modify in Procedure Type are Reimbursement and Fixed Cost. Both are global data elements you can define for each procedure that will be used throughout the application for calculation and reporting purposes. Reimbursement lets you set a general reimbursement amount by procedure type that will be used to calculate margins on those procedures. For our Non-Contract clients, you can override this value on each procedure by setting the reimbursement specific to each procedure. Otherwise the global reimbursement amount will be used.
Fixed Cost is a procedure-specific value that you can update to reflect ancillary expenses beyond what we calculate for procedures specifically based on device utilization. For instance, you might want to create a fixed cost for atherectomy that takes into the account the room time, personnel costs, etc. required to complete an average atherctomy case. AMSHub will use this value to further estimate margins for cases.
Sharing Procedure Types
If your facility is part of a group, you can share procedure types with other facilities in your group. This can save a tremendous amount of time and create consistency across all of your locations. On the Settings > Procedure Types page, you’ll see a share icon for each procedure type as well as a checkbox. You can share a single procedure type by clicking the share button for that prodedure type and selecting which other facilities in your group should receive the procedure type, or you can share multiple procedure types simultaneously by selecting the checkbox for all procedure types and using the Actions button and selecting Share.
