As part of your initial and ongoing facility settings, you’ll manage the list of Techs and other staff that are part of a procedure. This list is used in a few places on the site, but will most often be used while assigning staff involved with a procedure.
Managing your list of personnel has only a few simple functions: defining their first and last name, selecting their type (Tech, Nurse, etc.), and setting their status to Active or Inactive. Active means the staff member is currently working in your facility and should be shown in drop down menus for procedure assignment and reporting. Inactive can be used to temporarily hide staff members from these lists.
When adding or editing procedures, different drop-down menus will appear based on whether you have certain staff added in Personnel. If you have people added and assigned a type of Nurse, a Nurse drop-down will appear with a list of those user types. The Personnel assigned a type of “Tech” will be listed in a collection of different Tech drop-downs. Additional drop-downs may appear to facilitate the addition of other staff to procedure records.
Using Personnel Expense Tracking
We also have the optional feature of calculating personnel expenses for Procedures for each Provider, Nurse and Tech at your facility. If using the Personnel expense tracking feature, you can have AMSHub automatically calculate the cost of the people in the room during a procedure based on each person’s specific pay rate. You will set the cost-per-minute for each Provider, Tech and Nurse at your facility (don’t worry, you can just provide each person’s hourly or monthly pay rate and AMSHub will do the math). AMSHub will use the captured procedure length to calculate the cost of each person assigned to the procedure down to the minute and include that expense in the procedure revenue summary as well as in all of the downstream reporting and analytics calculations. This will help ensure you know true case costing of personnel in addition to all of the materials used. Because we understand this information is potentially sensitive, only Facility Admins can see and edit the cost for personnel. So an admin must go in and set this information in Settings > Personnel once. After that AMSHub will start including their costs in all procedures going forward. We believe this new feature will help drive significantly more accurate detail about actual case costs specific to every procedure added in AMSHub.
Personnel Sharing
If your facility is part of a group, you can share personnel with other facilities in your group. This can save a tremendous amount of time and create consistency across all of your locations. On the Settings > Personnel page, you’ll see a share icon for each member of personnel as well as a checkbox. You can share a single person by clicking the share button for that person and selecting which other facilities in your group you want to share that member of personnel with, or you can share multiple members of personnel simultaneously by selecting the checkbox for all personnel and using the Actions button and selecting Share.
