When you’re creating or editing Roadmaps there are a number of elements involved. Let’s review the various aspects of a Roadmap:
Roadmap Name – This is a simple identifier used only internally for you to identify the roadmaps you’ve created. We recommend making it unique enough to help identify the roadmap to some degree while viewing it only on the Roadmap List page.
Roadmap Type – We offer three different types of roadmaps and it’s very important to understand these types and to choose the correct one for your roadmap:
- Default – A default roadmap is one that will automatically be used for ALL patients. Any patient that you add into AMSHub directly into the Patients area or by adding a procedure, etc. will experience all of the actions you defined in the default roadmap.
- Patient-Based – Rules and actions identified as a patient-based roadmap will happen just to those patients whom you specifically attach to the roadmap.
- Procedure-Based – When you create a procedure-based roadmap you select the procedure type it’s associated to and any patient that has a procedure entered into AMSHub of that type will get attached to that roadmap and be affected by any of its actions.
Roadmap Description – A brief description of the roadmap used internally to help you describe the purpose of the roadmap for future reference
Status – Indicate whether the roadmap is active or inactive, which will determine if it is or is not carrying out all of its underlying rules and actions
Roadmap Steps – These are one or more actions you want AMSHub to automatically take for any patient that is attached to this roadmap. It includes a number of required inputs:
- Step Name – Internal title for the step
- Trigger for Step – We offer two different triggers that will cause actions to happen:
- Patient Added to AMSHub – Fires when a patient is entered into AMSHub via any service (directly added to Patients, indirectly added when a procedure is created, etc.)
- Procedure Completed – Fires when a patient has any type of procedure performed and input into AMSHub
- Action to Perform – Two actions exist:
- Send a Patient Document – Select from a list of all documents you’ve created in our Patient Education service
- Send a Survey – Select from a list of all survey templates you’ve created in our Survey service
- When to Perform Step – Specify the number of days after the triggering event to send the selected item
Add as many steps as you’d like for a given roadmap. Think carefully about the interval in which documents are being sent and their associated content. Use your materials to stay connected and engaged with patients without inundating them. Prevent duplicate actions by ensuring your default roadmap and any patient or procedure roadmaps don’t duplicate actions.
