The Room Time Usage report is designed to help you understand how much value you’re getting out of your procedure rooms, based on the procedure lengths you assign them relative to an 8-hour day (or a time you provide). You can filter the data by date, provider and procedure type. Revenues are primarily generated in your procedure rooms, so by understanding how close to a maximum you are reaching in these rooms you can better optimize revenues by identifying opportunities for added cases in unused time.
You can toggle between a line chart and a bar chart on both graphs in the Room Time Usage report. In some instances, some data may be better understood by switching chart styles, so you can click the button any time you see it, to toggle to the other style to view your data. The toggle button is the chart icon located in the upper left corner of the currently displayed chart.
If you have multiple procedure rooms, and haven’t configured them in your Facility Settings we encourage you to do that asap. If you are not assigning procedures to their rooms, AMSHub will assume you only have one room and your calculations will be inaccurate as the math will be assuming 8 hours for a single room vs 16 hours available in two rooms. If you do have your rooms configured correctly, AMSHub is now requiring this option be selected for each procedure added to ensure your new Room Time Usage report correctly matches procedures completed to their respective room.
You can also use Facility Settings to change the length of a standard day from 8 hours to something else based on your specific usage scenario, and AMSHub will use your value in all calculations rather than our default value.
