One of the key aspects of auditing your facility’s effectiveness, is your ability to evaluate how your providers are performing. The provider’s report is intended to give you a summary of all your providers in a number of areas such as total procedures completed, number of items used, average items used per procedure, total cost of items, average cost per procedure and average procedure length. You can drill down further into specific providers to see greater detail about their specific patterns. This data automatically defaults to the last 30 days of information, but you can also click on that box as there are a number of other date range options available.
You can toggle between a line chart and a bar chart. In some instances, some data may be better understood by switching chart styles, so you can click the button any time you see it, to toggle to the other style to view your data. The toggle button is the chart icon located in the upper left corner of the currently displayed chart.
When evaluating providers, it is important to understand their item consumption rate relative to their peers so you can identify utilization outliers. The data provided in the Providers Report can then be used to help conduct an informed conversation with providers to create awareness about issues with excessive utilization to try and provide resources to move them toward the mean.
