If you use the Patient Education tools to inform a patient about specific visit or procedure details using the Document List Link and entering their MRN, that “encounter” is tracked and stored in Patient History. Each button the patient clicks is captured and stored with its associated date and time, as a way to provide audited historical information about an encounter. If our finger signing feature has been included in your documents, the patient signature is also captured and stored as part of this encounter record, and is viewable in the patient history.
Search via MRN or click the MRN from the patient history list shown, and you’ll see all of the content that was presented to the patient and the date and time they agreed to each step, as well as their signature (if included). If you’ve included our email delivery feature in your document, the historical record will also shows the email address they provided and a tracked series of events showing the date and time we emailed it to them, when it was received and when they viewed the email*.
Complete patient encounters are shown by default. Completed encounters are those where the patient has reviewed all documents and the nurse – or other personnel interacting with the patient – has marked the encounter as complete. You can also view Active encounters, those where a patient still has documents to review or where the nurse has not marked the encounter as complete. Each night, all active encounters are automatically marked complete.
You can also use the buttons to print the patient documents, download them as a PDF, or email all documents to the patient.
