Most every facility has at least one outlier: the physician that consumes more materials per procedure than the rest. Some facilities have more than one. Using Physician Reports you can assess how your physicians compare to one another in areas such as case volume and expense per case. Use this information to establish a baseline of performance to monitor over time. You can also use it to incentivize or penalize outliers for cost overages.
Another critical area to assess your operational efficiency is in regard to the particular procedures you do. Each time a completed procedure is entered into AMSHub it’s assigned a Procedure Type and that data can then be used to report against. Use the Spending Report to look at monthly, year-over-year data regarding number of procedures and associated cost of procedures. Consider procedure revenues and the potential to effectively drive more high revenue procedures to your facility through your outreach programs.
