Resource bundles allow you to build a group of resources into one collection that can be used when adding items used in a procedure, instead of having to add every individual resource item used. As with resource items, resource bundles work the same way. You have the option to print out QR codes, which can then be added by scanning the QR code(s)or you can add items manually by using the plus sign, next to resource bundles used, and browse to find the desired bundles.
You can group resources into as many bundles as necessary to help attach used resources to procedures. This could be based on typical items used during different procedures performed. For example, if during a typical Atherectomy procedure the items used are: 4 sets of gloves, 4 sets of shoe covers, 2 syringes, 1 nurse for 30 minutes, etc…, you could make a bundle for that procedure titled Atherectomy. You would scan/manually enter the Atherectomy bundle, along with the AMSHub inventory items used during this procedure, and this would give you a general idea of the costs and items used during an Atherectomy procedure. There is no limit on the number of bundles that can be added to a procedure.
Using bundles saves the time of scanning a separate QR Code for each item used in a procedure. A resource bundle, similar to individual resources, is intended to be representative of average estimates of resource utilization. It is intended to provide approximate costing of non-inventory items to improve overall case costing data.
To create a resource bundle, you would need to first ensure all of the individual resources have been added to Resources, in AMSHub. (See the section on Resources if you have questions on how to add resources.) Once the individual resources have been added, you will go to Resources>Manage, make sure you have filtered by clicking on the box for Resource Bundles and click on Add Resource Bundle, in red at the top of your screen.
You will give that resource bundle a Name and Description and then choose from the list of available resources that you have created. You can set a quantity for each resource to indicate the number of those resources to be included in the bundle (four pairs of gloves for instance) once it’s added to the bundle. The bundle cost will automatically update as you add resources. Press the Save button and your resource bundle has been created. Carefully choose bundle names that will make it easy to differentiate between each bundle and when to use it. Click on the QR code icon for any bundle you want to generate a QR code for to scan from your screen or to print for future reference. You can scan this QR code any time you do a procedure that would include these bundled resources and all of the individual resources will be associated to that procedure. If you prefer not to print the QR code(s) you can manually add the resources/resource bundles to your procedure by clicking on the plus sign and browsing to find the desired bundle.
You can click on the icon under Items, and a pop-up window will appear to give you a quick view of all of the items in that bundle. You can also click on the edit button to edit any of the details in the bundle or make changes to the resources, or resource quantities, in the bundle. The clone button allows you to duplicate a resource bundle. This will create an exact copy of the current bundle which you can then edit to quickly create a similar bundle to one you’ve already created.
Sharing Resource Bundles
For Groups using AMSHub, you can use the sharing feature to deploy resources across your network. If your facility is part of a group you’ll see a share icon for each bundle on the Resource Bundles list page, as well as a checkbox for each. You can use either option to access the sharing feature. AMSHub will let you choose which other facilities in your group you would like to share the bundle with. Whichever facility creates the bundle becomes the “owner” of that bundle and is the only facility that can make changes to it. The bundle will automatically appear to all other facilities as soon as it’s created and will appear “locked” to the other locations, but they can use it immediately. Sharing a bundle shares all Resources in the bundle. If you’d like to share all resources you’ve added with another facility in your group, create a Resource Bundle, include all resources in it, and share that bundle. This will create all Resources in the other facility. You can then do bundles as well, as needed.

Resource bundles are used for your own accounting purposes and do not affect your inventory or orders. Attaching resources to procedures provides better case costing.
